Schwan's Ohio team serves hot lunches to homeless, donates socks
Area Sales and Distribution Manager Chris Miller (Dayton team), Area Sales and Distribution Manager Steve Chapman (Cincinnati team), Route Relief Driver Randy Thomas and Customer Sales Rep. Tom Bosch all served hot lunches to men staying at the Gettysburg Gateway Men’s Shelter. Additionally, the group collected and donated more than 200 pairs of socks. Donations came from the Dayton and Cincinnati teams.
“We helped prepare lunch for over 200 men in the cafeteria. It was truly an eye-opening experience and very humbling to serve others since we are blessed with so much,” Chris said. “I want to thank everyone for the help and the sock donations. Socks are the No. 1 most requested items at shelters.”
St. Vincent De Paul operates the facility, which is a 24-hour emergency homeless shelter serving single men. The Gettysburg Gateway shelter provides three meals daily, clothing, personal care items, mail and message services, job-seeking services and support in finding housing.
