Director of Facilities & Operations Dave Olafson, middle, was recently named a recipient of the Marvin Schwan Excellence Award. |
The award, which is the most prestigious honor our company bestows, is given to those who exemplify the company’s values and the “How We Work” cultural statements that are part of the company’s Desired State business plan.
During the event, CEO Dimitrios Smyrnios talked about the importance of the award and praised Dave for his efforts throughout his 34 years with Schwan’s.
“As we enter a new era with CJ and continue this journey together, it is extremely important to me that we take the time to honor and celebrate individuals who execute our business plan and serve as models for our Culture,” he said. “Dave exemplifies our Culture in a way that we all can learn from.”
Dave first began working for the company in 1985 and currently serves as facilities and operations director for Global Supply Chain, the company’s manufacturing and logistics arm.
During the ceremony, Global Supply Chain Executive Vice President Tony Puri said Dave was selected because of his integrity and hard work, along with his commitment to the company’s value of “helping one another.”
“Throughout his long career that spans from his various roles in Home Service through his latest role in Global Supply Chain engineering, he has demonstrated all of our values on ‘How We Lead’ by stretching himself to learn about ammonia, bacterial remediation and by doing whatever it took to get the work done and help others to accomplish difficult tasks,” he said, quoting a nomination form.
Dave is the third person this year to receive the Marvin Schwan Excellence Award. Two Schwan’s Consumer Brands employees received the honor in July.
The Marvin Schwan Excellence Award was established in 1994 to recognize employees who best demonstrate our values of “Growth, Hard Work, Helping One Another, Enthusiasm and Integrity” and exemplify the culture we aspire to each and every day.
