Dec. 20, 2019 — Employees from Schwan’s Company and Cygnus Home Service in Marshall, Minnesota, recently helped raise more than $133,000 for the United Way of Southwest Minnesota. The funds included employee donations that totaled more than $62,000, plus a matching donation from Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation.

The foundation also added 15 percent to their donation to offset the operating costs from United Way and ensure that all employee donations directly supported charitable efforts of United Way. This made the total donation $133,358.08.

The funds will benefit local-charitable organizations that support people and resources focused on improving education, income (financial stability), health, safety and well-being and hunger in Southwest Minnesota.

Leaders of this year’s annual fundraiser in Marshall included Associate Recruiter Emily Crumrine and Customer Service Associate Kaitlin Decker, who planned several engaging activities for employees to raise funds. Activities included special food days, a jail and bail, wine pull and a mystery lock box.

Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on efforts to end hunger, promote youth education and leadership development, and provide essential services that advance the health of the communities where Schwan’s Company and Cygnus Home Service employees live and work. The foundation is headquartered in Marshall, Minnesota.
