Members from the Schwan's Corporate Giving Foundation and the Schwan's Engagement Council in Bloomington, Minnesota, recently presented Second Harvest Heartland with a $50,000 donation. |
Employees raised $12,705 through the company's jean-day program and $11,438 through Second Harvest Heartland's“Food Mania” campaign. The Foundation made a matching grant of $25,858 to honor employee-led efforts, plus added an additional 15 percent to the “Food Mania” campaign to help cover administrative costs of employee donations.
The Food Mania campaign officially took place in September. Customer Services Specialist Nichole Loranger, who helped coordinate the event, said that every $10 donated to Second Harvest Heartland provides 30 meals for those experiencing food insecurities.
This was the eighth-consecutive year employees participated in Food Mania to help Second Harvest Heartland build awareness about hunger and alleviate hunger issues.
