Dec. 3, 2021 — We love seeing our team members getting involved in their communities and spreading holiday cheer. Our company’s legal department recently volunteered to participate in a donation drop-off of Red Baron® pizzas to Mary’s Place in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mary’s Place is a transitional apartment complex that is part of
the Sharing & Caring Hands nonprofit organization. The complex features 100
fully furnished apartments for homeless families with children as they work to
transition toward a life away from homelessness.
Those who volunteered their time to pick up and deliver the pizzas
included Scott Xi, Emily Menchaca, Jenny Kahl, Dottie Woodruff and
Amber Alger.
The
initiative was coordinated by Schwan’s Engagement Council, which is an
employee-led group that is dedicated to increasing employee engagement and
celebrating successes as one Schwan’s team. The employee group is committed to
educating employees about our business, supporting our community through
volunteer efforts, driving collaboration across business units through
activities and encouraging employees to make a personal commitment to health
and safety.
