April 15, 2022 — Team members based in Bloomington, Minnesota, recently volunteered to drop off a donation of Red Baron® pizzas from Schwan’s Consumer Brands to Mary’s Place in Minneapolis.
Mary’s Place is
a transitional apartment complex that is part of the Sharing & Caring Hands
nonprofit organization. The apartment building features 100 fully furnished
apartments for homeless families with children that provides safety and hope as
they work to transition toward a life away from homelessness.
Employees who
volunteered their time to pick up and deliver the pizzas included Dottie Woodruff,
Jeff Gauthier, One Kim, Aiden Sung, Youngsik Shin and Stella
Choi. Community Relations Manager Theresa Zaske also thanked Doug
Ohmann and Nichole Sundstrom as well as the teams
in transportation and cold storage facilities for helping to coordinate
the pick-up of available product.
The initiative
was coordinated by Schwan’s Engagement Council, which is an employee-led group
that is dedicated to increasing employee engagement and celebrating successes
as one Schwan’s team. The employee group is committed to educating employees
about our business, supporting our community through volunteer efforts, driving
collaboration across business units through activities and encouraging
employees to make a personal commitment to health and safety.
