University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business grants company “Best Branding” award

Nov. 9, 2016 — Our company was recently given the “Best Branding” award from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business’s Graduate Business Career Center. Our company is honored to receive the award as it represents positive reinforcement of our innovative employer branding efforts at the University of Minnesota campus.

Manager of College Relations and Initiatives Melissa Vit accepted the award on behalf of Schwan at the school’s recent corporate reception in front of students, faculty and other Twin Cities business leaders.

The “Best Branding” award is given to the business that exemplifies outstanding and innovative employer branding throughout the academic year. The recipient is chosen among a pool of national candidates.

“Our company has a long history of working closely with the Carlson School of Business to provide career resources and bringing top talent to our organization,” Melissa said. “In recent years, we have boosted our efforts with on-campus activities and really increased our presence throughout the school. This award is a testament to all the work we have done to build our reputation and credibility with the U of M.”

Examples of on-campus activities at the University of Minnesota that contributed to our company being awarded include:

  • Participation in mock interviews and resume reviews with students.
  • Company leaders participating as panelists and judges for university programs.
  • Company employees serving as mentors for university students.
  • Hosting information sessions about industry-related topics and the company.
  • Employees participating as guest speakers for in-class presentations.
  • Attending networking receptions at the university.
  • Sponsorship of “Carlson Brand Enterprise,” which is a school-related competition that challenges teams of students to create real-client business solutions.
