Houston area teams donate $25,600 to area United Way

March 8, 2017 – At The Schwan Food Company, we are committed to giving back to our communities. In that spirit, our teams at facilities in Pasadena and Deer Park, Texas, recently presented a check for $25,600 to the United Way of Greater Houston. The money donated included nearly $12,000 collected by employees as well as $13,700 from the Schwan's Corporate Giving Foundation.

The foundation money was a dollar-for-dollar match of the employee funds plus additional money to support administrative costs at United Way. By covering some of the administrative costs, the foundation ensured employee donations would go directly to United Way programs and grants.

Schwan's Corporate Giving Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on efforts to end hunger, promote youth education and leadership development and provide essential services that advance the health of the communities where employees of The Schwan Food Company subsidiaries live and work. The foundation is headquartered in Marshall, Minnesota.
