This year, Progressive Grocer received more than 650 submissions for the honor of being part of the list of “Top Women in Grocery.” A total of 362 honorees were selected.
Here's a little bit about the employees who were recognized and their recent accomplishments:
- Jennifer Holmberg, senior manager of product development, is responsible for overseeing product development and innovation for Schwan’s dessert portfolio. She led a cross-functional team that pursued a multimillion-dollar growth opportunity through the development of a new product. In the end, the product was delivered to the customers' specifications and Schwan’s won the business. She also led changes in specific ice cream and pie recipes as the company pursued its clean-label initiatives.
- Giselle Restrepo, senior manager of consumer insights and analytics, works with teams throughout Schwan's to provide a one-company view of consumer and marketplace trends. She is also leading a team of cross-functional partners to design a trends summit for corporate employees. Recently, she played a key role in providing guidance for Schwan’s ingredient simplicity initiative and building a consumer-empathy platform where teams can learn to think like consumers do.
- Michelle DeLamielleure, consumer insights and analytics director, has instilled a consumer-first perspective within the organization by keeping the consumer front and center in all business decisions. This was accomplished through training sessions and presentations. She has also conducted large-scale brand-equity studies across every brand within Schwan’s retail portfolio and used the information to find opportunities for the improvement of Schwan’s brands.
- Jessica Longshore, director of field sales and strategy for Schwan’s Consumer Brands, Inc., won "Zone of the Year" in the East Region in her first year on the job. She was later promoted to her current position, where she led the launch and ongoing management of new hand-held technology. The project provided teams with tools for best-in-class execution.
- Angela McKeand, director of marketing for strategic growth channels in Schwan’s Consumer Brands, gained alignment and support from cross-functional leaders to create a new channel marketing vision and go-to-market capabilities. As a result, she was charged with building a dedicated support team and developing a long-term strategy for the team. Additionally, the sales team from a strategic customer came to Angela to oversee the development of a new product that represented significant growth. She successfully worked with many teams throughout the company to develop the product.
