May 16, 2016 — Celebrating a shared commitment to positively impact lives through entrepreneurial action, The Schwan Food Company will join thousands of college students from across the country in St. Louis, Missouri, for the Enactus National Exposition this week.
“The Enactus National Exposition is a highlighted event each year for The Schwan Food Company as it gives our leadership team the opportunity to engage with talented entrepreneurial-minded students, business peers and the academic community,” said Scott Peterson, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for The Schwan Food Company. “Every year our company participates in this event, and I am always impressed with the students’ clear passion and energy for their professional development.”
Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world.
Last year, more than 4,500 people from the across the country attended the Enactus National Exposition, including students, company leaders, recruiters and educators. The event features several networking opportunities, including on-site job interviews for students with company leaders, a job fair and a competition where teams of college students present the results of outreach projects to panels of judges.
This will be the 16th year The Schwan Food Company has participated in the annual event. Throughout that time, we have hired more than 100 Enactus students into internships and full-time positions, providing excellent talent for our company and valuable professional-development opportunities for those new in their careers.
At this year’s event, our leaders will serve as judges during the competition, present as guest speakers, be present at the job fair to interact with students and host a special dinner with students at Katie’s Pizza and Pasta Osteria, a restaurant owned and operated by Schwan’s Chef Collective member, Chef Katie Lee Collier.
We look forward to a fantastic week and we’ll see you in St. Louis!
