Oct. 11, 2016 — A big thank you goes out to employees in Marshall, Minn., who rallied to collect food and monetary donations for the local Kitchen Table Food Shelf in Southwest Minnesota. In a one-day event, employees donated a total of 376 pounds of food. Also, a total of $1,830 was raised by employees. The Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation matched the amount donated by employees bringing the total amount raised to $3,660.
Additionally, 20 cases of Freschetta® Artisan Crust Margherita pizza were donated from Schwan’s Consumer Brands.
Following the collection period, a small group of employees volunteered at the Kitchen Table Food Shelf to sort and organize the donations.
The event was coordinated by the Marshall Schwan’s Engagement Council, an employee-led committee dedicated to increasing engagement. The group is committed to educating employees about our company’s business, supporting community through volunteer efforts, driving collaboration across business units through activities and encouraging employees to make a personal commitment to health and safety.
