Forty students awarded scholarships from Schwan's Corporate Giving Foundation
May 26, 2017 — The Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation recently awarded 40 students a higher-education scholarship to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational technical school through the Schwan Scholarship Program. Thirty-seven students were awarded a renewable scholarship of $2,500 and three students were awarded a $1,000 one-time honorarium. Recipients awarded scholarships came from 18 states.
Scholarship recipients were notified the week May 8. Applicants who did not receive a scholarship this year are encouraged to apply again when the program opens once again in early January 2018.
The Schwan Scholarship Program provides scholarships for children of our company’s full-time employees. The program is meant to reflect the foundation’s values, and it encourages young people to achieve academically.
The program is run by Scholarship America®, which also selects the recipients. No officer or employee of our company or Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation was involved in selecting the scholarship recipients.
