Dec. 21, 2017 — Supporting United Way of Southwest Minnesota, our team in Marshall, Minnesota, hosted an annual campaign where they helped raise more than $151,101. The funds included employee donations that totaled $71,322, which exceeded their campaign goal of $70,000, and an additional grant of $79,779 from Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation.

“It’s so important to thank all of my co-workers who helped us surpass our employee goal this year of $70,000,” said Tracie Hansen, co-chair of this year’s campaign committee. “In addition, we need to thank Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation for their continuing generosity to United Way of Southwest Minnesota. It’s truly wonderful to be a part of something that is so vital to our community.”

The United Way campaign committee coordinated several activities to help surpass their goal of $70,000. Activities included a raffle and silent auction, craft sale, open-donation lunches and breakfasts and ice-cream socials.

Donations will go toward benefitting local-charitable organizations that support people and resources focused on improving education, income (financial stability), health, safety and well-being and hunger in Southwest Minnesota.

Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on efforts to end hunger, promote youth education and leadership development and provide essential services that advance the health of the communities where Schwan’s Company’s employees live and work.
