June 21, 2016 — We want to thank our teams in Marshall, Minn., for rallying to collect food and monetary donations for the local Kitchen Table Food Shelf. In a one-day event, employees donated a total of 462 pounds of food, which will provide 355 meals. A total of $626 was also raised, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation, bringing the total amount raised to $1,252, or approximately eight pallets of food.
Additional items collected included 50 cases of cherry Schwan’s Push-Ems® treats and 19 coupon booklets for Schwan’s Consumer Brands foods.
Following the collection period, a small group of employees volunteered at the Kitchen Table Food Shelf to sort and organize the donations.
The event was coordinated by the Marshall Schwan’s Engagement Council, an employee-led committee dedicated to increasing engagement. The group is committed to educating employees about the company’s business, supporting community through volunteer efforts, driving collaboration across business units through activities and encouraging employees to make a personal commitment to health and safety.
