June 20, 2017 — Employees from our facilities in Marshall, Minnesota, recently completed a three-day food drive for the local Kitchen Table Food Shelf. Employees donated a total of 332 pounds of food as well as $130. The Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation will also do a dollar-for-dollar match bringing the total donation to $260.
In addition to the employee donations, our company also donated 1,200 pints of Jack Nicklaus Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream.
The event was coordinated by our Marshall Schwan’s Engagement Council (SEC). SEC is an employee-led committee dedicated to increasing engagement and celebrating successes as one Schwan’s team. The group is committed to educating employees about our company’s business, supporting community through volunteer efforts, driving collaboration across business units through activities and encouraging employees to make a personal commitment to health and safety.
The local food shelf is a part of the Feeding America Network. our company entered into an official partnership with Feeding America in 2011 where it was designated as our charity of choice. Doing so, our company is not only able to centrally focus charitable works and ensure consistency throughout, but also provide a way for our employees to positively engage toward a common cause for their communities.
