Aug. 30, 2017 — We have just received word that the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation has made a $50,000 commitment to Houston Food Bank to help with recovery efforts in areas stricken by Harvey. Additionally, the Foundation has committed to making a $1-for-$1 match for any donations (up to $50,000) to the Houston Food Bank from employees of a subsidiary of Schwan’s Company.
According to the Houston Food Bank, every $1 donated helps provide three meals for those in need.
As a company with more than 800 employees throughout the area, we thank the Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation board members for this effort. We also thank employees ahead of time for any donations made to help in recovery efforts.
The Houston Food Bank supports 600 hunger-relief agencies in 18 southeast Texas counties and is a member of the Feeding America network. Schwan’s Company and Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation have been official partners of Feeding America since 2011.
Schwan’s Corporate Giving Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) charitable organization focused on efforts to end hunger, promote youth education and leadership development, and provide essential services that advance the health of the communities where our employees live and work.
