Schwan's Company receives 'Emerging Employer' award

Schwan’s Company was recently honored with
 the “Emerging Employer” award from Iowa State University. 

March 16, 2018 — Schwan's was recently honored with the “Emerging Employer” award from Iowa State University. We received the award for our brand strength and dedicated presence at the university as an employer with special activities to engage students.

Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition Melissa Vit said the award recipient is determined by the students, who vote for a company based on their participation in job fairs and other on-campus activities coordinated by Iowa State’s career services department.

In recent years, Melissa said Schwan's has focused on expanding on-campus reach to students at Iowa State — especially in the engineering department.

Examples of recent on-campus activities include:

• Company presence at on-campus job fairs.
• Hosting internship opportunities for students.
• Sponsoring extra-curricular university club meetings, such as the engineering club, with company product.
• Hosting information sessions about industry-related topics and the company.

Melissa also said Schwan’s has hired interns and college grads from Iowa State in the following areas:

• Engineering.
• Production.
• Continuous Improvement.
• Food Safety & Quality.
• Product Innovation & Development.
