“This was my first time attending the School Nutrition Industry Conference, and it was a fantastic experience,” said Sophie Kohl, marketing associate. “After the last few years we have had, it was inspiring to hear the stories from food-service operators on how they were able to overcome unprecedented times and continue feeding their students.”
The School Nutrition Industry Conference brings together K12 food-service operators and industry partners to celebrate food. At this year’s conference, attendees were able to hear from keynote speakers, participate in innovative solution sessions and share feeding success stories as well as supply-chain solutions with one another.
One of the main focuses for the team this year was to feature its newest breakfast items. The new items include the Big Daddy’s™ Cheese Stuffed Sandwich, Tony’s™ Cheese & Egg Breakfast Bagel and the Tony’s Cheese, Egg & Meat Breakfast Bagel.
During its Innovative Solution Session hosted by Senior Director of Marketing Amy Bunch and Sophie, attendees learned how providing students with a healthy breakfast is a valuable tool to boost academic performance and reduce behavioral problems. The session also included a panel of school food-service directors, who shared their best practices and insights to help industry peers as they navigate through current challenges related to supply and labor constraints.
The team also set up a small display for in-person guests, where they could network with peers and interact with prospective customers and Food Service’s programs and products. Associate Marketing Manager Kim Rosenfield and Regional Sales Manager Paula Glynn, who helped at the table, said the table also served as a way to provide samples of the new breakfast products as well as the Chef One™ Whole Wheat Chicken & Vegetable Dumplings.
